Delaware Holding Free Fishing Days on Saturday and Sunday, June 12 and 13
To celebrate National Fishing Week, June 5-13, the DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife is holding free fishing days on Saturday and Sunday, June 12 and 13. On these two days, anyone may fish, clam, or crab in Delaware waters without a fishing license.
To ensure success while fishing, crabbing, or clamming in Delaware, be sure to stop by Shooters Supply in New Castle, Delaware to pick up your bait, tackle, ice, and other gear. Shooters Supply offers a wide selection of fresh and frozen bait, and our top-of-the-line freshwater and saltwater fishing tackle selection is among the best in the area.
With the exception of this free weekend, resident and non-resident anglers, clammers, and crabbers ages 16 to 64 fishing in any Delaware waters – freshwater or saltwater – are required to purchase a fishing license and display it while fishing. Delaware residents older than 65 and both residents and non-residents under age 16 do not have to purchase a license. Licenses are required for non-residents age 65 and older.
